You have an excellent sense of meter, Adagio. I don’t run into that frequently. It’s accentuated, actually, by the lack of rhyme- which can occasionally be detrimental to a piece. Instead, you rely on consonance and alliteration.

Writing is a challenge to me.

This is fab, and you’re an excellent writer. Very intellectual – and this is an intellectual piece with intellectual characters. I get the swinger/cuck vibe from the narrator (Lola’s husband).

Like Isla, I went back to read again – mainly to clarify the narrator verses Lola, because that wasn’t very clear on my first reading. To make that more crystal, you might insert an early paragraph where the narrator talks about his new wife more distinctly and establishes her as a separate character from himself. That just seemed foggy to me during my first pass.
