The Song

When I heard him sing

my world changed

for the better, 

I think.

The song he played

made my heart sing

until his tune 

changed.

In a blink of an eye

my life crumbled 

to the ground

and died.

The words I still hear 

in my head to this day 

echoed my happiness 

and fear.
