Mr Black 3

This is chapter 3 of 7 chapters in the series Mr Black

Being a dick is so overrated. Standing in the rain for hours, watching, waiting, stalking; those were few of the things we had to contend with. When I decided to go private I was content to leave all that behind and take on the occasional divorce case, even a trivial legal investigation to pay the rent and pass the time. I even went my way to set up office far south of the city, in a suburb away from the hustle of the Windy City. What I didn’t expect was to be back here, walking the streets, and hugging those sidewalks once more. Now that I’m back, I regret to say that braking-an-entry was another expertise I didn’t think I would be doing so soon, a skill not easily forgotten. But those greens… they would make you do anything.

I had been following Jade, the lady with the green eyes, for days. Each night she would walk from her apartment on Michigan Avenue all the way down to the Huron-Orleans. At seven she would have dinner at the restaurant, sometimes alone, but most of the times with Nello Giacomoni, the owner of the establishment. At eight she would go down to the speakeasy where she would prepare for her singing act. At eight-thirty she would go up on stage, sing for an hour, then mingle with the crowed or talk to the girls for another hour. Around eleven she would walk back home and that’s where I was; sitting and waiting for her so we could talk in private.

Unfortunately she was never alone. She was always closely guarded or shadowed whenever she went out of her flat until she came back. I certainly couldn’t speak to her at the Orleans in front of every hoodlum, informant or drunk in town. That place was swarming with them. Besides, what would have I said, “hay miss, you asked for a dick to find your sister whom you suspect is being kidnapped by someone in here…” That would certainly open everyone’s ears, especially those of Nello Giacomoni’s. He and his brother owned the Orleans and from the looks of it he probably owned her as well. I would rather avoid a confrontation with those two and their men at this time. I certainly wouldn’t come out in one piece.

Before she was due to come back from the Orleans, I broke into her apartment, did a quick sweep of the place to make sure we didn’t have company, then sat down in a large leather chair at a dark corner of her living room, waiting for her to arrive. One thing for sure, she had a nice little place for a singer at an illegal speakeasy. She must have had a rich aunt or uncle. That’s usually the case with most people who have a few dollars to spend in this town. They were either legally braking the law, illegally hustling someone who did, or had come upon some cash from someone who had. It was tough living in Chicago in 1930s especially for a young lady like herself, and I didn’t imagine even Nello himself could afford such a place.

Her apartment was located in a relatively good neighborhood for this part of the city. The building was large but safe enough with a couple of side and back entrances if need be. It even had a janitor who was fast asleep when I managed to slip past him and into her flat. Now all I had to do was wait. At eleven she walked in and locked the door behind her.

“You’re a hard gal to talk to, Miss Jade” switching on the table lamp next to my chair to show her who and where I was.

I was surprised when she scrambled to open her purse, brought out a Baby Browning and pointed it at me. Even thought it was a mouse gun but it could still hurt someone.

“Who are you?” she almost squealed, “what do you want?”

I hate it when they think I’m the bad guy. That’s one of the reasons I left this business. “You’re the one who asked for my help Miss. Remember?” trying to remind her the reason for my presence.

“I have no idea who you are Mr,” she insisted, “now get out of my home,” still pointing that pocket gun at me.

This was getting ridiculous. I stood up wanting to leave and forget all about her but I didn’t. I couldn’t. I felt something was wrong. She was afraid. It certainly wasn’t because of that goon guarding the door outside, that’s for sure. There was something else. Besides I just couldn’t abandon a case when I was in a middle of one and I was past the door and all the way inside and those eyes were killing me.

“You asked me to find your sister Miss Jade. I need more info.”

Her eyes popped wide open as she burst out. “What do you know about my sister?”

“I was hoping you could tell me,” I replied.

“When did you last see her?” I thought I was going to ask the questions only she did. “And how do you know my name?” asking again.

“I’ve never met your sister,” I snapped, “you’re the one who came to my office and told me she was being kidnapped.”

“I never did such a thing,” she snapped back.

“I’m really wasting my time here,” I said. If she was denying we ever met then she must have changed her mind and I was about to leave but she stopped me.

“NO. Wait,” she begged, “I think you’re confusing between my twin sister and I. I haven’t seen Jane for more than a year and now you’re telling me she came to your office and asked for your help. Why? And who the hell are you?”

“Twins?!” Well, that explained it, maybe not all of it.

“Okay. Let’s start from the beginning Miss Jade. My name is Sam Black and I’m a private investigator. Your identical twin sister Jane, who by the way said her name was Jade, came to my office a few days ago and said you’re being kidnapped and asked for my help.”

“And where is my sister now?”

“I don’t know.”

Now that I have explained all that I was even more confused. Why would Jade, no Jane, who hasn’t seen her sister for a year, just decide to come to me and tell me her sister was being kidnapped? That doesn’t make any sense. Only now I have four green eyes and that was making it even worse.

Jade returned the baby gun back into her purse, walked over and slumped into the chair opposite to mine. “I really need your help Mr Black,” she said, “and so does my sister apparently.”

“Are you being kidnapped Miss Jade?” A stupid question but I had to ask.

“No of course not,” she replied, “well maybe, if you consider the life I’m living.” She remained silent for a few seconds then she continued, “I guess I chose this life for myself so I can’t complain. So, No Mr Black, I’m not being kidnapped. I’m just being held against my better judgement.”

“What about your sister?” I asked.

“Maybe Jane is the one who is kidnapped.”

“And why are you saying that?” I asked again getting more and more confused by the second.

“Maybe because she’s the one who asked for your help!?”

Well, that made sense, only not to me, so I decided to ask one more question, “and where is your sister now Miss Jade?”

“I don’t know.”

“Damn I need a drink,” and I usually don’t like to drink.

Jade stood up and walked to the kitchen. She opened the cupboard, brought out a bottle of whiskey and poured us two drinks then returned back to sit in the same chair and started to explain.

“A year ago Jane met a man, a handsome hunk of a guy. I didn’t like him but she did. She said he was good to her but he was a pompous ass who thought he knew everything. We had a falling out because of that idiot. I guess it was more my fault than hers. I didn’t expect she was that much into him. One day she said she was leaving and that was the last time I saw her.”

“What’s his name? And where did they meet?” I asked.

“I have no idea, but all that was before I started working at the Orleans. His name was Theo or Theodore, something like that. That’s all I know.”

Just my luck! Why do I always get the difficult ones? All I had to work with was a name, a missing lady who likes to play the vanishing act, and another who wished she could vanish out of here, and they both wanted my help. Where was the simple divorce case when I needed one?! So I gulped my drink in one go.

“You say no one at the Orleans knows who that guy is?” Trying to find a lead, or someone who might know this Theo, or maybe had seen him somewhere.

“No,” she replied. “I told you, that was before I started working here. No one even knows I have a sister, not even Nello, and I prefer to keep it that way.”

“You and Nello seem to be close,” I was trying to get more clues but more to see if I had a chance with those greens myself.

“Yeh, well you can just say it is a working arrangement,” she chocked, “Nello is a very protective man, maybe a little more protective than I bargained for, and if his man standing outside my door knows that you are here then there’s going to be lots of troubles.”

“I can take care of myself.”

“I’m not concerned about you, it’s my ass I’m worried about.” She did have a point, but she didn’t have to paint it so. Now all I could think off was that ass and those long legs that she blatantly displayed out of her high cut tight skirt.

“What do you have in mind Miss Jade?”

“Stay the night with me Mr Black,” she said with a smirk on her lips. I liked where that was going. “He leaves in a few hours then you can slip out the way you came in,” explaining how I could get out of her apartment to my utter dismay. Well, you can’t have everything.

“Now excuse me I need to get out of my work clothes,” she stood up and as she swayed to her bedroom she said, “please make yourself comfortable Mr Black, we have a few more hours to kill,” closing the door behind her.

Jade was right. I could have walked or maybe fought my way out of there, but that would certainly have made it worse. Not only would I have blown my cover but I would have gotten her in trouble especially with Nello, and I still needed more info to find those other missing eyes. So I stayed. I took off my jacket then my shoes but kept my gun strapped to my chest holster as I always do. You can’t be too careful these days. I poured myself a glass of water and returned to sit back in my chair. There were three more hours until that thug leaves so I might as well get comfortable.

A few minutes later the door to Jade’s room squeaked open and she stood in the middle of the doorway, reluctant to come out. The room was dark but hers wasn’t. The light from her room seeped through her silk white robe tracing out a perfect slim body against the bright lit background. She certainly had gotten out of her work clothes, all her clothes apparently. I couldn’t make out her face as the light at my end of the room was turned off.

“We still haven’t discussed your fees Mr Black,” she said, “I’m sure you don’t work for free.”

I didn’t know I was standing up until I said, “You’re right Miss Jade. I don’t come cheap but I’m sure we can come up with a mutual arrangement which can satisfy both of us. And please call me Sam.”

“And did you also COME UP with a mutual arrangement with my sister Mr Sam?”

I really wasn’t expecting such a question. When you are faced with two green eyes you tend to forget the other two. And I thought I detected a little hint of rivalry between the sisters in the tone of her voice, but I wasn’t so sure. More and more clues to decipher.

“Unfortunately she left before anything came UP,” I truthfully replied. Not exactly true but it was good enough.

That’s when she slowly started walking towards me. As she emerged from the light, her face started to slowly brighten up. When she stood in front of me those greens blazed. They pierced through me like flashing bullets and I exhaled from their flares against a perfect smile.

“And how would you like your DOWN payment Mr Sam?” putting her hand between my legs as she said that. Yep it was definitely UP.

I was surprised when she knelt down and started to unbuckle my belt, unzipping my trousers next. Meanwhile I got busy unbuckling the straps of my gun holster and unbuttoning my shirt throwing them all on the floor. It didn’t take long until I was almost naked with my pants down except for my socks which I didn’t want to reach lest I disrupt the flow of her tongue on my dick. Oh fuck she was good. I haven’t had a good tongue licking for a long time and I thought I was going to faint. When she put my entirety inside her mouth I almost did. I could tell she had worked really hard to get where she was now and it was hard as hell. More than that and I would have prematurely burst so I tried to resist. It was very hard. I tried to push her back to tell her she made a point but she held tight. She kept it inside her mouth sucking and working her tongue at the same time, a really experienced lady I might add. So I just surrendered to her will, shooting my full load of little bullets all the way down her throat. They must have been considerable especially since they haven’t had any exercise for a long time. Now I was able to breath.

She stood up with a smirk on her face, “Is this enough down payment Mr Black?” she asked. She was standing so close to me I could feel her hard nipples trying to pierce out of her night robe.

“I told you Miss Jade. I don’t come cheap,” I replied, “unfortunately I have to dig much harder to find my dues.”

I swung her around and pushed her on the leather chair this time with me kneeling between her legs which she opened inviting me inside. I pulled her robe up getting it out of my way to confirm my suspicions. I was right. She didn’t have anything under there.

“Is this what you’re looking for Mr Black?” She asked.

“Definitely, Miss Jade,” I replied as I dived in.

I haven’t had a taste of this nature for a long time so I had to take it slow to savor every inch I could get my mouth on. My tongue had a feast as well, especially when it reached the crown of her jewel. A couple of flickers later she was breathing hard, a little suck and I heard a moan, one more flick and I felt a trickle on my tongue as she held my head and pushed it further between her two folds. Now she could breath.

I slumped back on my chair waiting for her to open her eyes. When she did she asked to my surprise, “Why are you helping us, Sam?”

That was a sensible question to which I didn’t have an answer. The only reply I could come up with was, “has anyone ever told you you have beautiful eyes?”

She smiled again then stood up extending her hand, inviting me to come with her. “Let’s see what we can come UP with to have my end of the bargain fulfilled.” And I thought she never asked.
